You join the network. Wavvy checks a tiny probe address that should answer “204”, which means you’re really online.
Wavvy is an intelligent Chrome extension that spots captive portals on campus, hotel, and airport Wi-Fi, auto-fills your credentials, and gets you online before you’ve opened a tab.
You join the network. Wavvy checks a tiny probe address that should answer “204”, which means you’re really online.
Instead of 204, the network sends a redirect to its login page. That’s how a portal gives itself away.
In a background tab, your saved details fill the form, the terms box gets ticked, and Connect gets pressed.
When the answer is 204, the tab closes and a quiet notification tells you you’re connected.
Wavvy monitors connectivity quietly and checks again when you wake your laptop. It never guesses: after three failed logins it pauses for five minutes, so a wrong password can’t lock you out. Your credentials stay 100% in your local browser sandbox.
Join a pretend network with Wavvy auto-login on, then off, and compare how long it takes to get online.
